- The day-before and event-day preparations
Tsumugi was originally considered a "durable everyday wear," but due to the decline in the number of skilled weavers,
high-quality ones has become increasingly rare. There is no strict formality for tsumugi, allowing you to comfort with your wearing style.

Kimono Wearing Etiquette
- Please take a shower.
- Since nails can damage the material, please make sure to keep your nails short or file them. Please avoid excessively long or intensely decorated artificial nails.
- Please avoid wearing strong perfumes. If the scent of your perfume is too much, we may refuse you to wear the kimono, to avoid causing inconvenience to the next person who wears it.

Wearing without Zori (Sandals)
- We provide tabi (socks) and zori for walking, but if you’re not used to them, the hanao (thong) might cause discomfort.
You are welcome to wear your own shoes instead of zori, but please make sure that your shoes do not have zippers, metal decorations, or other embellishments around the ankle area near the kimono hem.
Regarding the limit on the number of people
- Each group is limited to a maximum of 4 people including those not wearing.
- Please be aware in advance that we have a few selection of men's kimonos. We are unable to accept group of men only.
Cancellations due to Typhoons, Heavy Rain, or Severe Weather
If severe weather is expected, we will either reschedule the event or it will be canceled. In this case, we will notify you by email no later than the day before.

Kimono Wearing Guidelines
- Please tie up long hair (beyond shoulder length) before arriving to prevent damage to the kimono from oils or hair products.
- Large accessories cannot be worn with the kimono.
Please use the restroom before you arrive.
- After arrival, wash your hands and choose your preferred obi (sash) to match the kimono.
- For those who are on their period, disposable menstrual underwear will be provided.
New undergarments and tabi (socks) will be provided.
- Please remove any underwear with wires, as they may cause discomfort when the obi is tied.
- During the dressing process, we kindly ask for your cooperation in moving your body as requested by the kimono dresser.
- You are welcome to take the undergarments and tabi as a souvenir.
The kimono and obi may be subject to change
- Both the tsumugi and obi are unique vintage items, so in the event of stains or tears from previous wear, we may need to change them.
- As each obi is a one-of-a-kind piece, the length may vary, and we may recommend a different one besides you originally requested.
You can go out as soon as you get changed in kimono.
- We will teach you simple etiquette, such as how to walk in the kimono. Your clothes will be kept at the studio.
- Please manage your valuables personally.
- We are unable to store large suitcases, so please leave them in a locker at public places in advance.
- After you return to the studio and get changed, the event will be concluded.
Please ensure you follow the reserved and return times.
- The studio is reserved exclusively for each group. Please arrive on time for your reservation. There will be no extension of time on late arrivals.
- When you anticipate being late returning to the studio, please inform us in advance of your current location and the expected return time.
Other reminders
Additional charges may apply in case of stains or damage.
If the kimono gets stained, please inform us as son as possible. In cases of tough-to-remove stains or damage, additional charges may apply for cleaning, depending on the severity.
Please remember to bring a valid ID
Most tsumugi kimonos are rare and no longer available in the market, so we will keep a copy of your passport (or an equivalent form of ID) when renting them out. If you forget to bring it, you can enjoy kimono style in indoors, but you won't be able to enjoy your free time outside. Please note, no refunds will be provided in such cases.
